The truth about ear cleaning....
>> Jun 30, 2009
Okay...so I’ve searched the net about ear cleaning and I found out (just like what the doctor told me) that we really should never used ear swab (inserted) to clean our ears. According to one site that I stumbled upon, you could easily puncture the eardrum when you use cotton swab to clean the ears. Earwax or cerumem is nature's protection for the ear canal, and there's usually no reason to try to get it out of your ear or to child's ears either. Cerumem comes out on its own eventually, and sticking a cotton swab in there is likely to push it in farther.
What we should do instead is simply clean the outer part of your ears or your toddler's ears with a cotton swab moistened with oil or peroxide, or a washcloth moistened with warm water.
God is really amazing. He even created some parts of our body to clean itself and protect us from harm! Wow…
