Coping Up

>> Oct 2, 2009

We already returned to our house last night. Thank God, the electricity is back. There’s still a lot of things to fix, and we still need to clean up but we’re thankful that we’re finally back home. Last night the garbage dumps and thick mud were also being removed by the authorities when we arrived. Thank goodness! I know there are still a lot of places that needs to be cleaned and through united effort I believe our city will be restored.

When we finally settled down, I immediately turned on the television to watch the news. I was touched that our country are really trying to stand up and the people are hand-in-hand. The spirit of “bayanihan” is still alive. There were hundred of volunteers willing to help ABS-CBN’s “sagip kapamilya” program and even students from a medical assistant training school are willing to give their extra time to give medical assistance to those who are still in the evacuation areas.

We’re coping up and now, I can already see the rainbow after the storm.
