Lesson Learned
>> Oct 11, 2009
During the typhoon and the devastating flash flood, a lot of establishments herein our city including banks were affected. One major establishment here was drastically ruined. It’s a mini mall with establishments like banks, restaurants, and amusement park. Three weeks has passed and until now, I’m still not sure if it will still recover. The banks have not opened yet though I saw one prominent fast food chain is not back to business.
I’m thinking about all the offices and so many major banks that were affected. I know a lot of these establishments were caught unprepared. How will they restore important documents? Were they able to save some tangible data? Do these banks designed special place to store tangible data and documents? Do they have a remote credit card storage system? I hope they do. I hope that after this event, all of us will be more prepared now and more caring to our environment.
The recent calamity has been an eye opener for many of us. It has taught us so many lessons in life. I just hope that those in the government have also learned their lesson. It just so sad that we learned it the hard way.
