Tuesday Toot

>> Mar 31, 2009

I'm so happy that I was able to go to the market last Saturday to buy some stuff we need. That way I was able to buy ingredients for our viands for the whole week. Cooking our everyday food is a breeze when it's planned. So I was able to make this week's meal plan.

Are They ReallyThe Hope of the Next Generation?

>> Mar 28, 2009

I just got home from our rehearsal for tomorrow's service. I left the center at half past nine just after our participation for the earth hour. When I was already heading to the sports center, I came across several groups of young people loitering outside while a band was having a concert inside. I was taken a back by how these teenagers were dressed. I passed by and head on. When I reached the fountain area, there were even more young people milling about. Chatting, sitting on the benches, laughing... I felt sad.

I remember my teenage years. When I was their age, you can never see me in the streets late at night, doing nothing but loiter. That was not how I was raised by my parents. Time changed and so are our values. Today teenagers are more exploring, more, adventurous, more hard-headed, more shallow, and more without purpose in life. I was burdened by this young people. I hope I can do something for them.... I also hope that when the time comes that my daughter reached that age, she will be different. I pray that we'll be able to raise her with the right values, with a good character, with fear and faith in God. I pray that we'll be able to raise her to be a help in uplifting our people and our country.

Emotional Maturity?

>> Mar 27, 2009

You Are 90% Grown Up, 10% Kid

Your emotional maturity is fully developed, and you have an excellent grasp on your emotions.
You're honest, direct, and compassionate. You don't let a bad mood get the best of you.
People know that they can turn to you in times of trouble. You are stable and smart.
In fact, you are so emotionally mature - you should consider being a therapist!

How Emotionally Mature Are You?

I'm glad the result means I'm mature enough for my age :)

It's Friday!!

Sounds fun, right? It's always, always a nice feeling for me when Fridays come. It means that the work week has ended and the weekend is not far fetch. I love the weekend. It's when I can wake up late in the morning, do fun activities with my daughter, read my books uninterrupted, etc. etc.

Tomorrow, I'm planning to wake up early so I can run a few miles in the sports park, prepare a healthy breakfast, and go to the market. Then perhaps go to the park or a mall with my daughter in the afternoon. I'll take some time to finish the book I'm reading. I'm almost halfway to the end. I hope to finish it this weekend so I can start reading my new book that was given by a friend. I want to watch a concert as well. I heard that there will be a concert ala Las Vegas Shows in MOA.

Happy weekend everyone!

Reading Journey

>> Mar 24, 2009

I'm done with one of the books I bought last Saturday. I'm turning pages of my second book. It's quite interesting. It's the book by Brent Curtis and John Eldredge, The Sacred Romance (Drawing Closer to the Heart of God). So far, I'm beginning to like it. I hope to finish this book this week end.

More books to be read! :)

Tuesday Toot

It's my first time to join Tuesday Toot. This meme is for moms to post their accomplishment for the week. Today I'm happy that I was able to finish reading one of my to-read-books. I'm back to reading since I really love to expand my vocabulary and of course feed my mind with lots of learning.

I'm now on my second book. I'm happy that in just a span of one week, I'll finish (hopefully) reading two books! I've never done this before and I'm happy for my self.

Our Fun..Fun..Saturday!

It was a lazy Saturday afternoon. I decided to take my daughter with my niece to Georgetown to inquire for the summer swim class they're offering for toddlers. I made reservations for my daughter for the 3rd batch which will begin on April 27. I thought it the best schedule since hubby will be coming home on the 29th. He will be there for my daughter's class. Prior to her swim class, she will take the free trial at JCLAM. Her would-be-school this coming school opening. I think she will have a busy summer. :)

After that, we went to C&B Mall in Marikina Heights and went to the bookstore. I bought two books. After that we head on to McDonald's to have some snacks. The little girl had fun on the play area, as usual. When we finished our snacks. I took the kids to the World of Butterflies. There they saw catterpillars, crysalys and of course happy-flying-butterflies. Finally, it was not a boring Saturday. It was fun!

I Joined The Ultimate Blog Party!

Ultimate Blog Party 2009

I was invited by my friend to join this event. And so I joined, The Ultimate Blog Party 2009. Why? because this is where we can build online friends. (I mean, who doesn't want friends, right?)

But first let me start by introducing my self:

I am a doting mom to a cutie-curious-growing-2-year-old-toddler. She's a daughter. :) Married last 2005 to my best friend who's now enduring the hardship of working overseas for his family. I'm 30 (though a lot of people say I don;t look my age). I'm a bit-of-a-scrapaholic-mom and a shopaholic for my daughter (I think every mom does, right?). And I am so excited now because next month, my loving husband is coming home!

For more about me, you can check out my other blogs here and here.

Now back to the party info....

The party starts now and ends on the 27th of March. It’s so simple to join the fun and get involved. One is by simply promoting the event to your blog by writing a post (like what I did here) and then go back to 5minutes4moms.com and sign as one of the Mr. Linky link lists near the end of the post.

Aside from meeting new friends, you will have a chance to grab exciting, and cool prizes. And here are my top 3 choices: (since I'm not living in the Us or Canada, I guess I have to make do with these prizes, but I love them all!)
But if my top 3 picks will not be available for me, here are my other choices: 56, 17, 2, 13, 15, 71, INTL37, INTL31, INTL25, INTL2, INTL51 and INTL7.

Hey...are you thinking if you're eligible to join? Of course you are, because5 Minutes for Mom is really for everyone… not just moms. Whether you're a mom, or preparing to be a mom, a single person with the heart for children, or a dad, you can join the ultimate blog party! So how's that? Come and join the fun! :)

You Can Decide To Be Happy

>> Mar 5, 2009

Happiness doesn't occur by itself

you cause it to happen or not,

yours is the choice to be unhappy in life

or to be content with the life you've got.

How you relate to life's events

determines your joy and misery,

whether your feelings are mean or kind

your attitude to life is the key.

You can make up your mind to be happy

life will be more rewarding if you do,

for happiness is a state of mind

developed and controlled by you.

Don't wait to be happy until things are just right

don't let life's little annoyances get in the way,

you can be as happy as you decide to be

and you can decide to be happy today.
