Happy Monday!

>> Aug 24, 2009

Encourage positive thoughts :)

… Thanks for the long weekend... Thank God it’s Monday again…Thank God for the divine protection as I travel to work….and thank God that I have work when others are still job hunting.

Anyway, that’s to happily start my Monday. I just peek in. I’m off to check my emails, do my routines, send some docs online and search for discount lighting.

I hope everyone will have a great Monday… so start the day right by thanking God for everything!

Ouch!......and Wow!.....

>> Aug 23, 2009

We were preparing to go to the public market yesterday to look for the kids’ costumes for the school's "Linggo ng Wika" celebration next week, when my niece’s accidentally fell and hit the tv stand leaving her with a bruised and swollen forehead. Good thing she didn’t hit her eyes or any vital parts on her face. Poor little girl. We went to the market with a crying girl in tow. She just stopped crying when she saw her pair of “ terno” . My daughter also got her cute little pair. We still yet to look for a pair of abaca slippers for her. Oh, I’m so excited to see the kids on their costumes on Saturday. Now I know the feeling of a mom with a school girl.

Fun Family Day!

>> Aug 21, 2009

Just woke up from my 3 hour nap. We woke up early today even if it's a non-working holiday because the little lady has an activity at school. It's actually a family day, called "Palarong Pinoy" where the students and the parent will have fun playing Filipino games. We actually had fun. Hubby was able to participate with all the games while me was left sitting on the bench taking pictures. We left tired so we just ate our lunch and took a nap.

Well, I hope I'll be able to post more about it later. For now I'll leave you with these pictures:

What's right.

I need to avoid starchy, salty, sweet and salty food. Not because I’m on a diet or looking for the best weight loss supplement but because the little peanut in me needs enough vitamins and nutrients. And of course, anything that can harm the little peanut must be avoided. Right now, I still don’t have the appetite to eat. I just hope that once I passed my first trimester, my eating pattern will be back to normal.

Arrrgh!

>> Aug 20, 2009

I got a very large zit on my nose and it was there since two weeks ago. Until now, it’s still there and the sad part is I can’t get rid of it. My OB advised not to used any beauty skin care product especially now that I’m still on my first trimester. And so, I’m scared to use anything to have it treated. Sigh…I can’t even have my hair treated. I’ve read that it’s not advisable for pregnant women to have a perm or rebonding treatment. Sigh…I’m stuck with my getting-more-and-more-unruly hair!

Annoying

We have a neighbor who had a dressed chicken delivery business. Often times, they wash their trucks along the street using pressure washers. Sometimes, the cleaner doesn’t mind if there are people walking in the streets. When the cleaner is at the other side, the tendency is that the people on the other side usually get soaked with water coming from the washer. It’s really annoying that these people don’t seem to care about their surroundings. I hope the neighborhood association will take initial step to stop this.

Looking Back

>> Aug 19, 2009

I remember one time when I was walking my way to the public transport station; It was already half past ten in the evening. I passed by the city plaza and saw groups of teenagers sitting around the fountain, chatting, playing skateboard, roaming around…busy. I felt sad. I remember when I was their age. Those were the times when people are still not busy like what we are now. Those where the times when we are not allowed to go out when the clock strikes nine. Entertainments are just the local television programs, and computer games like game and watch. There are no call center companies that forces people to be up 24 hours a day. Reports of teenage drug abuse are rare. Life is simple.

I guess people change as time change. But I’m happy that I was able to experienced the simplicity of life during my younger years. I just hope that the youth today will be able to have the time to look back to the past and not be drowned by technology. I hope that they will be able to see the value of their lives so that they may become the real hope of the next generation.

The Best VoIP

>> Aug 16, 2009

Our company is a technology service provider but our major focus is into telecommunications. I first encountered the word “ VoIP” (Voice Over Internet Protocol) through our company when our CEO wanted to venture into this business two years ago. But due to lack of plans and intensive research, the business didn’t push through. It could have been a flourishing business now if it just materialized two years ago since VoIP continues to evolve. Internet phone to fax services is an exceptional feature of that technology which is a need by more and more companies.

Now, we are again reviewing the business. Hopefully we will have the right people to manage it and the reliable R&D results. One company recently offered our company the technology of Spectotrel which is now being considered. Unlike the regular DSL, Spectotrel runs doubly fast, affordable and has an unlimited phone service with variety of features. When it comes to VoIP, it’s the best provider.

Now, more and more IT companies trust only Spectrotel for their high quality superior Internet and voice services. When it comes to affordable telecommunications services, Spectrotel is the name you can trust.

“It’s time”...

>> Aug 14, 2009

....this is the slogan of an insurance agency that the wife of the late Francis Magalona is endorsing now. It’s as if saying: there’s no right time, now is the time to get insured. And yes, I do believe it’s true. But honestly, I haven’t invested yet for any insurance, life or health. My present company has a group insurance for the employees and a health card benefit. And that’s what I only have, so hubby and I are now discussing about it. In North Carolina, they are offering a short term health insurance NC. I hope we can also find one here that offers the best and reasonably priced package.

Now we had cad software and persons who know how to operate it. I feel relieved!

Read!

Last night while waiting at the lobby of our church for the other band members of our worship team to arrive for our rehearsal, this is one quote that captured my sight:

Miss a meal if you have to, but don't miss a book.
Jim Rohn
To be a good writer one must read, read and read...that's why now, I'm investing on good books. But of course, my purpose is not just to enhance my vocabulary but also to widen my knowledge about life. My friends knew that I love reading that's why I received two books as gifts for my birthday. And now, I'm already half way through with the first book, The First Filipino.

Read books. It's one of the best hobby.

MBA.

I know of some people who are already into their GMAT prep. Some of them just graduate dfrom college but are already preparing for their masters degree. GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test measures language, writing skills and quantitative abilities of a professional. It is intended to indicate a person's potential as a participant of an MBA program. And having an MBA is really something so one has to really prepare for that.

Wishful Thinking

I wish I’m also one of those people who can afford a romantic vacation riviera maya. It’s one of the best places to have a grand vacation. When someone says Riviera Maya it means, exquisite and beautiful white sand beaches, luxurious hotels, and great food! What else will we look for? How I wish I can also taste the Riviera Maya experience. Maybe not for now (I’m also not advisable to go for long travels, as per my OB), but some time. Honestly, it’s been four years and we haven’t had our grand honeymoon vacation yet. But sometime, maybe we can have that, somewhere if not at Riviera Maya, but somewhere breathtaking, wonderful and relaxing…. I really need a vacation!

Just thinking...

...why everyone's going gaga for Lady Gaga?

Twitter is swarming with tweets about her and so I can't help but think. Yes, I'm not a fan. In my opinion, she's not a good image model for young people. I've searched about her just a while ago and I can't believe that she's just 23. She took drugs. She's a bisexual (she said that her song "Poker Face" was about a woman, thinking about a woman while making love with a man). One of her video was even banned and was refused to play by Network Ten (an Australian channel) reasoning that it contained sexually explicit imagery. These info are from Wikipedia.

Tonight will be her concert in the Araneta Colesium (Manila). I know thousands will be there to watch her perform. She's known for her provocative sense of style and people like it so much. I just feel sad that a lot of young people today put her as their image model.
