Rest.

I want to take a one week leave..I want to just rest...be with my family...enjoy the house...watch DVD films with the new bluray, and just enjoy a time with my daughter and husband and a time for my self. I feel so stressed out lately that I feel I am not having enough quality time for my self, my family and the baby inside me. I am also worried about my health. I've been sleeping late for the past week already. Sigh..I really need a rest.

Moving On

Do you know where to get the best stereo subwoofers? I’m helping out a friend. He’s looking for stereo sub woofers to be used in his business. He used to own a mobile sound system rental business. He provides services for all occasions but after the flood in our city almost all their appliances got soaked in the water, including his entertainment system and his business. And now, he’s trying to revive the business. He’s now starting to develop a new sound system to replace those that were lost. Christmas is coming so a lot of his clients are already inquiring but since he’s still not yet done recreating his mobile system, he had no choice but to turn them down and refer them to others. I know it’s quite frustrating on his part, but I admire his willingness to move on. Well, after all, we should not lose hope but move forward right? There’s always a rainbow after the storm. Who knows, he’ll be able to revive his business in no time.

Our IT

After almost three weeks of no internet connections, our internet in the office is finally back. But this time, our MIS is strictly implementing the internet policy. They recently bought a firewall that will block unwanted sites and also be able to monitor sites that internal users are visiting. This is to prevent the same problem that we encountered. What happened? Since we don’t have a firewall before, we are using the internet in an unsecured way which made our IP blocked by other internet sites and be tagged as spammer. This made our president really irritated, so he ordered to cut down the internet connections of all employees. Honestly, we suffered a lot.

Now, our company is also looking for other network assessment services to avoid the same problem to happen again. Our IT people admitted that they are still observing the firewall that they installed and not yet hundred percent sure that our IP will not be tagged as spammer again. Help from a third party is now being considered. Wow, finally, there will be a system within our IT dept.

Big Girl

During our last week in our former house, our little girl showed some characteristic that indeed she's already a big girl.... I was busy packing up our things when I noticed that the little was no longer with me in the room but instead busy doing something in the kitchen. When I went to check on her, I saw this:

When I asked what she did, she said she's helping mommy...she's washing the dishes because she's a big girl already...I was touched and at the same time, I felt a little bit sad...she's growing up so fast! She's becoming more and more independent and can already express her self well. Sigh....indeed she's no longer a baby :( ....

Delays.

I’m a digital scrap book addict but since the nanny left, my hobby was set aside. Plus transferring to a new home gave me piles of work load that scrapbooking has not been a priority. Today, I was checking my saved photo book design and got disappointed with my works. Some of the photo books on my account were made out of quick pages and ready templates provided in the site. I compared them to my other scrapbook layouts and projects and wow, there’s really a big difference. I know I’m not exerting my creative juices in the photo books lately so now I’m determined to edit everything. This reminds me to install a new version of Photoshop on my PC...

Oh well, even my non-digital scrapbook layouts are still unfinished. I’ve only done 5 pages from the 20 page scrapbook that I bought from the bookstore and the last LO I’ve done was a year end entry for last year. Now, I have to check for discounted scrapbooking supplies to finish my list of layouts for this one. Sheesh! It seems that there are a lot more additional items on my to do list before the year ends!

Saved by gold.

Finally, after two years of waiting, my brother in-law got hired and is now working in a company in the Middle East. He left last Monday. Indeed God answers prayers though sometimes, you have to really wait patiently when His answer is “wait”. The last two years has been a challenge for them. My sister was the only one working and all their savings had been used. Even all her jewelries had been pawned or sold just to make both ends meet. I admire her, for being wise. During the time she’s working on a jewelry shop she was able to invest on gold jewelries which served their purpose in their most trying times.

Gold is really a good investment. You can never go wrong in investing in gold may it be jewelries or gold bullion. You just have to learn everything about the business. And when it comes to investing there are a lot of online companies that specialize in this field such as monex.com. So now, I’m wiser. Whenever I have the funds, I’m collecting gold as much as I can because like my sister, I know I can trust this precious metal.

The moves...

...that excites, makes me smile and uncomfortable at the same time is coming from none other than...inside my tummy, lol! Yes, baby #2 is starting to do somersaults every now and then. The moves are visible even to my office mates. They notice it every after lunch time. They are already making guesses if what's inside is a boy or a girl...well, I won't know until the end of the month, I'm scheduled for a congenital anomaly scan on the last week of November and that's when we can also know the gender of the baby..oh I'm so excited!

It's never too late.

At present, I’m a mom and an eight-to-five employee. I’ve never had the chance to pursue higher education or even take my masters degree after graduating college. Now I can see how important it is. I should have followed my aunt’s advice. Maybe, if I was just that brave to pursue my master degree, I might be taking a different path in my career.

But I guess during those times, I was hindered in pursuing a higher education since taking up a master degree is expensive. Now, it’s different. As technology evolves, education is also evolving and developing. Now, even working professionals can still have the chance to pursue higher education while working. Today the net is not just for searching and surfing. You can also get even an online mba by enrolling to an online university, such as the Western Governors University. They are one of the leading online universities that offer affordable and accessible education online. Online education is now the hottest trend for working professionals who wish to learn more and pursue higher education. Why not when they can work and study and the same time, at their own pace, on their preferred schedule at the convenience of their home, right? If given the chance, I would definitely pursue my masters degree and get it from a reputable online university.

What I see...

Stressed out.. looking at nowhere... staring blankly into space... cramming... this is how I'll describe some of my co-employees who's attending the planning tomorrow, lol! Until now, some of them are not yet done with their presentations. To lighten up their mood, I just encourage them that after the weekend, it will be over :D. They will have then the time to relax and unwind, watch a movie or go to the gym and lift some Kettlebells :D. Anyway, December is fast approaching and after this stressful week, they only have to think about their Christmas shopping, bonuses (hopefully), gifts! hehe.

Business Planning This Week.

This time of the year is when most companies conduct business planning events. Our company will be holding our business planning on Thursday and Friday at South Waters, Lucena but due to my condition, I cannot join the team. As of the moment, all the department heads are busy preparing for their business plans and our president is acting as one of thier business plan consultants to make sure that they are doing the format he instructed them to follow and of course, see if their plans are feasible for the coming year.

It will be another two brain-draining days. I hope that after the sessions, they will still enjoy the day alloted for leisure which will be on Sataruday. I wil missed this event but I know it's better for me not to attend. I don't want to be stressed out. lol!

Education

>> Nov 10, 2009

A friend asked me what’s the best school offering GMAT prep courses but since I don’t know any, I wasn’t able to help her. She’s based in Canada, working while studying. I admire her a lot. She’s pursuing higher education while working and for me it’s something. I believe that education does not stop when you graduated college. As long as you can, learn a lot and get educated.

I hope I’ll be able to pass this character to all my children. And my prayer is that they will love studying because that’s the only thing we can give them, good education and the desire to learn and get educated.

Finally!

I can finally blog…I felt I was deprived from blogging because of so many things to do in the house.

Well, as I’ve mentioned on my other blog, we’ve already moved in the new house and so far, we’re ok. I just felt the need for a little pampering and perhaps an aruba vacation?? Lol! That’s a joke, I know I can’t travel yet with my present condition. I just feel so tired doing almost all the household chores lately plus the unpacking and rearranging of our things adds to the works I need to finish this week. Whew!! I feel tired, I just hope that after all these, baby #2 is still ok

Instant EHD.

I didn’t know that a laptop memory can be turned into an EHD. My friend just got himself an instant external hard disk from his sister’s laptop. He just bought an enclosure for it and voila! He already has his own EHD that he can use wherever he went. I’m surprised with his wit and initiative. Well, I guess an engineer like him would be doing the same. I wish I’m also an engineer.

Hubby is busy today. He accompanied the worker who will paint the new house. After that we’ll be hopping from one tile center to another this afternoon to look for affordable and good quality vinyl tiles. And before he returns I need to finish all my offline and online tasks. Need to finish the little girl’s assignment, help my brother with his data center virtualization research and finish all household chores. Sigh..How I wish I could clone myself to be in various places at one time and do all the chores at once! Lol!

sick :(

As much as i want to stay away from it...it catches me! Yaiks!

Last week, I already felt that my throat is itchy but I let it passed. I shouldn't have ignored it, now I'm suffering from clogged nose, cough, and a terrible cold. :((. Sigh..I really hate getting cold....I can't breathe, I can't cook yummy food since my taste buds aren't working properly and how I hate sneezing. And since I'm pregnant I can't take any medicine for my comfort. For now, I just have to drink lots and lots and lots of water.

Buti na lang it's a non-working holiday today. I can still rest. I hope I'll get better as soon as possible.
